The unemployment rate reached its highest level since the second quarter of 2022, with the number of unemployed rising by 78 thousand to 2.3 million. The unemployment rate for people aged 15 to 24 rose by 0.7 percentage point to 17.6%, while it rose by 0.2 percentage point to 6.7% for those aged 25 to 49.
